Dr. Ginger Dunivan graduated Summa Cum Laude with a
Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health
Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. Her undergraduate
degree is also from a Northwestern, Northwestern University
in Evanston, IL, where she graduated with a BS in Chemical
Engineering and was inducted into the Chemical Engineering
Honor Society.
Dr. Dunivan uses several forms of
Kinesiology, or muscle testing, to determine the specific
needs of each of her patients. This diagnostic tool allows
for very personalized treatments. For more information about
Kinesiology, refer to the About Kinesiology section of this web
page.
She is certified and licensed to perform
acupuncture. Acupuncture, acupressure, beads and other tools
can be critical to removing blockages that are causing
pain.
In 2000-2001, Dr. Ginger completed the 120 hour
International Chiropractic Pediatric Association's
Chiropractic Pediatrics certification. She is certified in
the Webster Technique, a gentle method of removing
imbalances in the ligaments holding the uterus, which
usually results in a breech baby being able to turn
itself.
Dr. Ginger uses Cranial Sacral Technique
(CST), a very gentle method of treating the bones that make
up the skull. It has been shown that a subtle but very
important movement occurs between each of the bones of the
cranium or skull. If this movement is impeded, the results
can be wide ranging. CST uses pressure equal to the weight
of a nickel to gently make corrections. This technique is
particularly powerful with newborns because of problems
caused by birth or body position while in the uterus. It is
also important for children or adults who have hit their
heads.
A related technique, SOT, or Sacral Occipital
Technique, also works on the bones of the skull. This
technique uses slightly more force but is still very gentle.
SOT is very powerful too in its effect on the pelvis where
wedge shaped blocks are used to gently mold the pelvis into
proper position. This technique is especially useful for
athletes because of the intensity with which they use their
bodies.
Dr. Ginger has completed Neuro Emotional
Technique (NET), Basic and NET EXTRA levels. NET is a
powerful tool for removing emotional charges stored in the
body. It can be used to treat phobias as well. It is not a
replacement for therapy, simply a physical tool, which uses
acupuncture meridians and spinal treatments to remove stored
emotions from the body.
In addition to the 105 hours
of nutrition that every chiropractor receives, Dr. Ginger
has many additional seminars focusing on the many nutrients
required for proper functioning of the organs. Addressing
the nutritional needs of your body is an important component
for excellent overall health. Remember, the food you eat is
the raw material for all the repairs your body makes every
day.
